History of One Community Federal Credit Union:
On January 2, 1958, the National Credit Union Administration granted Public Debt Parkersburg Federal Credit Union Charter #12143. The first meeting of the Credit Union's Board of Directors was held January 15, 1958. Credit Union business was conducted in a small office within the old Public Debt building on  Sixth Street in Parkersburg, WV.  At that time, all employees worked part time. In 1990, the Bureau of the Public Debt remodeled an area of their building to handle the expanded Credit Union staff. When groups outside the Bureau of the Public Debt began to comprise more and more of the Credit Union membership, the Board of Directors made the decision to construct a new building. The new location at 531 Fifth Street in Parkersburg began operation on December 15, 1997. The "old" office at 200 Third Street is also staffed by Credit Union employees to offer full service to those members who work for our founding sponsor the Bureau of the Public Debt.

The Credit Union now offers service to over 7,000 members and holds assets of over $50. million. The objective of our Credit Union has remained constant through the years - to promote thrift among our membership, and to maintain a source of affordable credit for our members.
